Cadman Plaza Redux
This was a project based on the urban development scheme of Brooklyn Heights. This re-envisioning demarcates old Fulton Road and turns the area’s historical character into a well planned neighborhood. The project’s highlight is the park, where architecturally significant elements from the neighborhood are transplanted and preserved within the grounds. Many of the new environmentally productive elements and technologies were incorporated into the park’s design. For example, Fulton Street is paved using permeable elements and landscaped intensively using permaculture methodology. The result is a lofty alternative to the typical urban renewal schemes that ravaged New York City and many other cities. View Larger
